Spirit Airlines announced Wednesday plans to continue its international expansion by adding Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) to its route map beginning July 1.
The airline will offer daily flights to Puerto Vallarta from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), along with thrice-weekly service from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) that will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

“Offering our passengers convenient flights to beautiful destinations and spectacular beaches is what Spirit Airlines is all about, which makes Puerto Vallarta the perfect new market to connect to major cities in our network,” said John Kirby, Spirit Airlines Vice President of Network Planning.
Spirit will also add a nonstop flight between LAX and Los Cabos, Mexico beginning May 5. The route will be Spirit’s first international service from Los Angeles, which will be joined by Puerto Vallarta when it launches the following month.
