Miami International Airport recorded 3.9 million passengers for the month of November, including its “busiest” day ever, November 28, with 164,000 passengers. It was the first month of growth since February 2020.
The number of visitors in the month of November is 6% more than the 3.67 million passengers in November 2019, a figure that reveals that for the first time since the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic this South Florida (USA) airport has received “more passengers in a month than in the same month of 2019”.

“Thanks to growing demand, expanded airline schedules and the U.S. government allowing vaccinated non-U.S. citizens to enter the country as of Nov. 8,” the airport said in a press release that also highlighted the Thanksgiving holiday and the return of the Miami Art Week face-to-face format.
The Miami airport, one of the top 10 airports in the United States, recorded more than 164,000 passengers on Sunday, November 28, the first Sunday after the Thanksgiving holiday (November 25), making it “the busiest travel day in the airport’s history”, EFE reported.
Contributing to this “historic month” were the figures achieved during the holiday period around this important holiday in the United States, between November 19 and 30, which exceeded expectations after adding 1.7 million travelers in those twelve days, or 14% more than the same period in 2019.

“From our record travel month in November, it is clear that Miami-Dade County is more popular than ever as a tourist destination,” said County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
The airfield’s general manager, Ralph Cutié, noted that the airport expects to repeat this trend in December, a month in which average daily takeoffs are expected to be 12% above the December 2019 average.
This is supported by, among others, the increase in American Airlines flights, now with 378 daily departures, the highest number to date from this airport.
Similarly, Spirit Airlines added another 19 destinations from this airport and Frontier Airlines expanded to a total of 36 domestic and international nonstop destinations, its largest number to date, its flights operated from Miami airport.
