Delta and LATAM Expand Their Joint Venture to Argentina: More Destinations, Better Benefits and Enhanced Connectivity
Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Group have announced the expansion of their Joint Venture (JV) to include Argentina, solidifying an alliance that has already seen two years of success. This extension will allow passengers to access a combined network of over 200 destinations across the United States, Canada, and Argentina, significantly improving travel options and customer experience.
More Routes, More Benefits
With Argentina joining the agreement, passengers from this South American country will gain direct access to Delta’s extensive North American network while earning miles in both airlines’ frequent flyer programs: Delta SkyMiles and LATAM Pass.
The agreement reaffirms both companies’ commitment to delivering greater value, service, and connectivity to users across the region. This step not only increases route availability but also streamlines travel between the southern and northern parts of the continent.

Earning and Redeeming Miles in Both Programs
SkyMiles members can already redeem miles on LATAM-operated flights, and soon, LATAM Pass users will be able to do the same on Delta-operated flights. This expands travel opportunities and provides access to a robust network connecting two continents.
Elite members of both programs will also enjoy exclusive perks, including access to Delta and LATAM VIP lounges, priority check-in and boarding, increased baggage allowances, and complimentary seat selection—all designed to enhance the experience for frequent travelers.
Benefits for Cargo Operations
The JV expansion isn’t limited to passenger travel. Cargo operations between Argentina, the United States, and Canada will also be strengthened. By combining both airlines’ networks and logistical capabilities, cargo customers will gain access to more flights, streamlined connections, and integrated solutions that optimize time and costs.
Regulatory Approval and Next Steps
The inclusion of Argentina in the Joint Venture has received the final required regulatory approval for implementation. Additionally, the companies have already submitted the operation for further evaluation by Argentina’s National Commission for the Defense of Competition.
