Viva has announced the launch of seven new international routes from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), strengthening connectivity between the Mexico City Metropolitan Area and the United States. With this announcement, the airline solidifies its position as the carrier with the largest presence at AIFA.

Starting in November, the Mexican airline will begin operations to:

  • Los Angeles — November 1
  • Chicago O’Hare — November 13
  • Denver — November 20
  • Houston — November 20
  • Orlando — November 20
  • Dallas-Fort Worth — November 21
  • Miami — November 21

These routes establish AIFA as a key alternative for international flights, expanding options for travelers from central Mexico seeking direct connections to the United States.

Steady Expansion: Viva Reaches 38 Routes from AIFA

In addition to the new U.S. flights, Viva will soon add two domestic routes: Tepic (Nayarit) and La Paz (Baja California Sur). By the end of 2025, the airline will operate 38 routes from AIFA, marking a 31% growth compared to the 29 routes it offered at the close of the previous year.

This expansion reflects Viva’s strategic focus on establishing itself as a leader in air connectivity within the new airport.

Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva, reiterated the airline’s mission: to provide more affordable travel options. “We aim to keep connecting Mexico with the world… with more routes, low fares, and the best service,” he stated.
